Map print questions, answered

Which apps work?

Anything that exports a GPX, FIT or TCX file: Strava, Garmin, Komoot, Wahoo, Coros, Suunto, Polar, Apple Watch, Slopes, Ski Tracks and the rest. Slopes is best for skiing because it already knows a lift from a run. Carv and My Epic don't allow exports yet.

Where can you draw?

Anywhere that's in OpenStreetMap, which is most of the world. If your place is too thinly mapped to make a print worth hanging, we'll tell you and refund you before anything's made.

What's on the print?

The place, drawn fine and quiet. Your route across it in the brightest colour on the page. Numbers from your file, your title across the foot, and the date if you want it. For a race, a finisher's medal with your time.

One day or a whole season?

Either. One place per print, and as many days there as you like. A single swim, a week on the mountain or a whole long-distance trail all fit.

How accurate is it?

Your line is drawn exactly as your watch or phone recorded it, to within a few metres. We fix the heights against open elevation data, because watches get altitude wrong, and take your climbing from your own app so the numbers match.

Can I change the words?

Yes. Two lines of title, a small line above it and a line at the foot, and you see them on the print as you type. Leave them blank and we use the place and the date.

When do I send my route?

Whenever suits you. Choose your files or paste a Strava link when you order, or send it later from the private link in your order email.

What if it's a gift?

Choose Send later. Your order email has a private upload link you can forward to whoever did the miles. Nothing's drawn until they use it.

Do I see it first?

Always. Your first look arrives within two working days of us having your order and your route. One round of changes is free, and nothing prints until you say yes. Hear nothing back for three days and we take it as a yes, so a Christmas order doesn't stall.

How much is delivery?

Nothing. Delivery is free to the UK, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, framed or unframed.

How long does it take?

Your first look within two working days. Then five to seven working days in the UK, seven to twelve elsewhere, counted from your yes.

What paper and frames?

Museum-grade matte, 250 gsm, archival and acid free, so it won't yellow. Frames in natural wood (pine), dark wood, black or white, all the same price, with acrylic glazing and no mount. They arrive ready to hang.

Is my data private?

Your files are used to make your print and nothing else. Never shown, never sold, never used to advertise to you. If you hide your start and finish on Strava, they stay hidden from us too.

Which sports?

Skiing, snowboarding, ski touring, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Road cycling, mountain biking, gravel, bikepacking and e-bike rides. Running, trail running and triathlon. Hiking, long-distance trails and peak bagging. Open water swimming, surfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing and rowing.
