Where it hurts

The first miles

The first real climb comes early, up through Rosslyn and along Langston Boulevard.

Hains Point

Out on the point at halfway, often windy and quieter than the rest.

The 14th Street Bridge

Long and exposed at mile 20, and you have to reach it before the cut-off.

The finish

Uphill, as the organiser puts it. Short, steep and right at the end.

Elevation

Hilly at the start and uphill at the very end, flat through the middle along the river and the Mall. The organiser gives no total, but makes a point of the uphill finish to the Marine Corps War Memorial.
