Where it hurts

The cobbles

About 6 km of them, many in the historic centre. Watch your footing.

The Lungotevere

Long, straight stretches beside the river, and you do several of them.

The last 5 km

Tight streets through the old city, cobbled and crowded, just when you'd like a straight road.

Elevation

Flat, as the organiser says: the whole course stays between about 10 m and 30 m above sea level. The difficulty is the cobbles, not the hills.
